I want to introduce you all to FACE Stockholm. A Swedish cosmetics brand that is not new but also not as well-known in the UK. FACE Stockholm creates professional products that can be used by everyone. Run by a mother and daughter team, this Swedish brand produces a wide and interesting range of colours. FACE Stockholm cosmetics are hypo-allergenic and not animal tested.
I came across this brand on one of my internet late night browsing sprees and decided on their Liquid Mineral Foundation in Sportig and Blush in Universal. I’ve had these products for around 6 months now and believe that I am able to give a honest review on both products.
FACE Stockholm Liquid Mineral Foundation – Sportig 29ml
Ingredients: Water, Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Glycol Monostearate, Dimethicone, Kaolin, Veegum, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, T.E.A., Lecithin, Cellulose Gum, Twincide BG. May contain: Iron Oxides, Golden Ochre, Ultramarine Blue, Ultramarine Green.
What they say: For those seeking a shine-free, lightweight foundation, look no further! Our mineral-based formula provides a smooth, natural matte finish. Can be paired with a light moisturizer or followed with powder to meet the needs of all skin types. Dries quickly without caking.
What I say: A light-weight mineral foundation, that has no scent and dries to a matte finish. Reminds me of Lancome’s Tient Idole 24Hr Foundation in terms of how matte it is. There are 8 shades available, from the very pale Synlig to the darker Spännande. Oil-free and paraben free, easily applied to the skin. This foundation is buildable without looking cakey, however, the most coverage you will get is medium. The under-tone for Sportig is beige/neutral. I would recommend using a concealer over this foundation for problem areas. But as far as the formula, this is excellent for combination skin.
My issues and concerns are that there were no swatches online of the foundation on darker skin. Also choosing the right colour online was a mission in itself. Furthermore, the colour Sportig is a little light for me even though it is one shade away from being the darkest. However, I find that once applied to the skin it blends perfectly. I’ll try Spännande next time.
Price: £30 (bought on sale for half-price)
Packaging: Clear glass bottle with a black screw cap. There is a plastic spatula inside of lid.
Availability: Easily found on-line.
Pros: Light-weight, buildable coverage, oil-free, clear bottle, spatula for scooping product out, scent-free, won’t block pores.
Cons: Colour selection is limited, name of shade not listed on bottle, not enough swatches on-line for WOC, coverage might be too light for some, made in USA so much cheaper in the States, expensive.
FACE Stockholm Blush – Universal 2.8g
Ingredients: Talc, Zinc Stearate, Kaolin, Silica, Boron Nitride, Isostearyl Neopentanoate, Polyethylene, Aluminum Starch Octenysuccinate, Dimethicone, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Trisodium EDTA, Propylparaben, Methylparaben. May contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850) Red 27 Lake (CI 45410), Red 6 Lake (CI 15850).
What they say: A collection of velvety, delicate powders, in an assortment of shimmer and non-shimmer shades that add contour to your face and instantly cast a naturally flushed, healthy glow.
What I say: Sportig is a rosy coloured blush. The colour in the pan is the same as swatched. I wasn’t blown away by this blush, however it is a nice product and once applied gives the cheeks a nice natural flush of colour. You don’t get alot of product for the price and I find that the colour shows a little pale on my skin.
Price: £18 (bought on sale)
Packaging: Light-weight sleek circular silver compact with the name of the brand on front. Closes securely with a click.
Availability: Available on-line.
Pros: Light but buildable colour, shade suits everyone.
Cons: Price may be expensive for some, can be a little powdery, product is more sheer on darker skin so requires you to apply more, unable to locate a store to do swatches.
In the picture above I applied 2 layers of foundation, filled in my eyebrows, lined my eyes, applied blush to the cheeks. I could have kept on building up the layers of the foundation, but I never use more than 2 layers of foundation. My dark circles were still visible and any imperfections would need to be concealed. I really like this foundation, as it is so light on the skin and looks very natural. If any of the products mentioned above interests you, then check out AnaLoves❤
